What’s Happening This Weekend in the Hudson Valley?

It's the weekend before Thanksgiving so before you get into full-blown holiday mode, take some time for yourself and discover some of the many great events going on this weekend in the Hudson Valley.

Friday 11/21- Sunday 11/23: Friends of the Poughkeepsie Public Library District will hold their annual Holiday Book Sale at Locust Grove, Rt. 9 in Poughkeepsie . Stop in for awesome gift-quality books and media at great prices! Regular books priced from $1 to $4.  Coffee table and other special books are individually priced. Hours are Friday 10 am to 8 pm, Saturday 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday (50% off all day) hours are 10 am to 5 pm.

Saturday, 11/22: Attend Maple Syrup School at Cornell Cooperative Extension in Liberty. Ryan Trapani of Catskill Forestry Association and Cornell’s Maple Syrup Specialist Steve Childs will be presenting on producing value added products and beginner maple production techniques.

Saturday, 11/22: Friends of the Newburgh Library Holiday Book Sale from 10-4 in the lobby of the library. The annual fall holiday book sale presented by the Friends of the Newburgh Library offers bestsellers, art, coffee table and specialty books, all at great prices. Shop for the holidays and support the library. Sat Nov 22 10-4, Sun Nov 23 1-4.

Sunday, 11/23: Noxon Road Craft Fair at Arlington High School from 10-4. Shop from a wide variety of talented area artisans. Find the perfect one-of-a-kind Christmas gift.

Sunday, 11/23: The 17th Annual Rosendale International Pickle Festival from 10-5 at the Rosendale Community Center on Route 32. There will be pickles a plenty in every variety and cultural preparation imagined, and international delicacies like Sauerbrauten, sushi and corned beef and cabbage as well as carnival staples like popcorn, hotdogs and sausage and peppers. Don't miss the pickle-eating and pickle juice-drinking competitions.
