What’s Happening This Weekend: Christmas in the Hudson Valley
Santa will be packing up his sleigh and heading out for his yearly ride this weekend. But before all of that happens, take some time and enjoy some special performances or events throughout the Hudson Valley that only come around once a year.
Saturday, December 23, 3 pm: For the 12th year the Charles Dickens Classic 'A Christmas Carol' returns to the Center for the Performing Arts in Rhinebeck. Saturday, December 23; 1-3:30: Free movie screenings every Saturday at E.B. Crawford Public Library in Monticello. The first Saturday of the month a teen movie will be shown (rated up to PG-13) and the other Saturdays will be family movies (rated up to PG). Saturday, December 23; 10-7: Coffee's Ready with Polly at the Pine Hill Recreation Center. Enjoy baked goods and good conversation. PLus, open recreation with pool tables, foosball, and ping pong. Saturday, December 23: Don't miss Holiday Lights in Bloom at the Orange County Arboretum, 41 Grove Street in Montgomery. See light displays in the forms of flowers, animals, and insects, walk along paths of lit trees, and see the 911 Memorial Garden done up in patriotic splendor.
Ice Skating at Bear Mountain. Public skating sessions are offered throughout the winter. Please check the holiday schedule for specific times over the next few weeks.
