What’s Happening in the Hudson Valley

It's the first weekend of spring, let the rejoicing begin. Celebrate by getting out and exploring the Hudson Valley this weekend with some cool events.

Saturday, March 21: 10-4. 12th Annual Fresh Air Fund Maple Celebration. Celebrate spring at Sharpe Reservation in Fishkill, visit the maple sugar shack, taste real maple syrup & maple cotton candy. Enjoy family activities including games, crafts, planetarium shows & live animal shows. Shop the tables of local crafters & vendors! Eat a hearty barbeque lunch. A highlight is the Annual Maple Syrup Judging Contest; regional entries compete in a taste test run by culinary students. Whose syrup will be voted 'Best in the Hudson Valley' this year?

Saturday, March 21: 8:30-12. Dutchess Ulster Heart Walk at Dietz Stadium in Kingston. Join Paty Quyn and help fight heart disease and stroke. Registration starts at 8:30 and the walk begins at 10. Even if you don't have a team, you can still come and walk. Donate here. If your life, or the life of a loved one, has been impacted by heart disease, we hope you'll join us and walk.

Saturday, March 21: 12-4. Ukrainian Easter Bazaar at Lumberland Town Hall in Glen Spey. Nibble on pierogies, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa and home baked goods.  Shop at vendor tables, a flea market treasure table and visit the Easter Egg Exhibit.

Sunday, March 22: 11-12:30. Being in Nature at the Seligmann Center for the Arts in Sugar Loaf. This is a 90-minute guided exploration aimed at fostering an appreciation for the changing seasons as they occur at the Seligmann Farmstead, a 50+ acre former dairy farm in Sugar Loaf with several interesting ecological features.
