Weirdest Town Names in the Hudson Valley

In the last few weeks I have been working on moving into a new apartment here in the Hudson Valley. While searching, I've done tons of pinning on Pinterest, made what feels like a million stops at Home Goods and did my fair share of Googling.

I came across a blog called Estately Blog that has updates in the real estate world and lists with random information about cities and towns. I say random because I came across a list of "Weirdest Town Names" in each state.

The folks at Estately did the hard work and I did some follow up research. I broke down their top list of weird town names in New York and narrowed it down to the Weirdest Town Names in The Hudson Valley.

New York had a whopping 30 names on the weirdest list. Eight of those 30 were right here in the Hudson Valley. These are the top eight weirdest town names in the Hudson Valley:

Neversink- Sullivan County
Shady- Ulster County
