It looks like it's happening again. After an unseasonably warm day, a cold front will move through our area and with it will come the wind. We could see a lot of windy conditions with the potential for damaging gusts. Here's what you need to know.

If you live in Sullivan,Orange, Putnam, or Rockland county, you are under a Wind Advisory, according to the National Weather Service, from 1 am to 6 pm on Thursday. Winds will be between 15-25 mph, but you could see gusts as high as 45 mph. Any loose lawn furniture, trash cans, etc could easily be blown around in these kinds of winds, so be sure to secure them. Scattered power outages may not be out of the question either.

If you call Ulster, Dutchess, Greene, or Columbia county home, The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning in effect from 7 pm tonight until 7 pm Thursday evening. Winds will be between 20-35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. We could see downed limbs and trees with the possibility of scattered power outages.

We will continue to watch this system and should there be any additional weather statements, we will get that information to you.
