Pets Alive is the reason that we have our fur baby Minnie Pearl. In 2009 my husband and I were looking to add a dog to our family and Pets Alive was able to match us with Minnie. Located at 363 Derby Road in Middletown, Pets Alive is a no-kill animal rescue whose mission is to improve the lives of companion animals everywhere. They do this through rescue, adoption, advocacy, collaboration, intervention and education.

Adding a pet to your household isn't always possible but volunteering at Pets Alive or your local shelter is a great way to help. Shelters often need donations of time, money, food, toys and blankets. Checking with your local shelter is the best way to make sure you are contributing what they need most based on the shelters population.
