Saturday May 7th you can get exercise for you and your dog and raise money for the Elting Memorial Library in New Paltz. The Annual Walkin' the Dog event will take place again this year to help raise funds for this historic library in the heart of New Paltz that has a famous resident.
Walkin' the Dog is a 1.25 mile walk-a-thon that loops through community streets and the Stone Houses and even covers part of the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail. This gentle walk for dogs and the humans who love them steps off at 8:30am from the corners of Huguenot and Main Street. Click here for registration information.
The Elting Memorial Library located at 93 Main Street has been a fixture in the New Paltz Community since 1909. It gained notoriety in 2007 when a videotaped ghost sighting at the library was released online and became one of New Paltz's most watched videos.
