In early May of 2025, Facebook was buzzing as Dutchess County locals saw news of a new cookie company opening a store in Poughkeepsie.

It's not just any cookie company, it's one of the most viral cookies over the last few years. Signs were popping up around town that Crumbl would be opening a new location on Route 9 in the South Road Crossing Plaza.

There was also an Indeed job listing that was posted looking for "Crew Members-New Store- Crumbl Cookies, Poughkeepsie, NY."

Is this legit? Are we REALLY getting a Crumbl?!

Crumbl Cookie Moves into South Road Crossing in Poughkeepsie, NY

When we first heard Crumbl was possibly opening up in Poughkeepsie, we reached out to Crumbl corporate to confirm. While we haven't heard anything from them, the answer was right under our nose.

Moves are being made and fast look what just showed up at the South Road Crossing Plaza:

New Businesses Coming To South Road Crossing Plaza in Poughkeepsie

It looks like lots of things are happening in the South Road Crossing Plaza in Poughkeepsie.

While many are patiently waiting for Crumbl to open their doors, it looks like even more construction is going on around the plaza. Dutchess Roots, the first marijuana dispensary in the Town of Poughkeepsie, is set to open soon.

The woman owned and operated dispensary is hoping to " "elevate customers' dispensary experiences through approachable products, personalized service and comprehensive education."

Dutchess Roots should be opening sometime soon in the Spring of 2025 and the storefront is coming along nicely.

We think it's pretty fitting too that a cookie shop is opening up right next to a dispensary. Genius idea.
