If you bought a Powerball ticket over the weekend in the Hudson Valley, you might want to take a closer look because three lucky lottery players are now holding onto tickets worth $50,000 each after Saturday night's drawing.

That's right, three third-prize winning tickets were sold right here in the Hudson Valley, and while nobody hit the jackpot locally, $50,000 is certainly not a bad consolation prize!

According to the New York State Lottery, two of the winning tickets were sold in Orange County, NY. One was purchased at the QuickChek in Middletown, while the other was sold at Smokes Four Less on North Plank Road in Newburgh.

The third lucky ticket was sold in Dutchess County at the Beekman Shell gas station located at 2858 Route 55 in Poughquag, NY.

Each of the three tickets matched four of the five white balls drawn, along with the red Powerball, making them worth $50,000 a piece. Saturday night's winning Powerball numbers were 2, 4, 18, 50 and 56, with a Powerball of 20.

While three Hudson Valley players have a pretty good reason to celebrate, the big Powerball jackpot continues to grow. Monday night's drawing will feature an estimated jackpot of $793 million. So, if you're thinking about taking your chances, you might want to grab a ticket.

Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. To play, players pick five numbers from a field of one to 69, and one Powerball number from a separate field of one to 26. A standard Powerball ticket costs $2 per play.
