
U.S. Marshals Offer $5,000 Reward For Upstate, NY Murder Suspect
Homicide in Cohoes, New York
Earlier this month, a homicide was reported in the Capital Region.
The incident occurred on Sunday, September 14th on Earl Lynn Court in Cohoes, New York. A 41-year old woman was found at a single family house, which she lived with her boyfriend.
As we first learned about the murder in Cohoes, the victims identity had not been released. However, further information has been released and we've learned the victim was Amanda Rodriguez.
CBS has also reported that this was the first homicide in Cohoes in 2025.
New York State Police Ask For Publics Help Locating Possible Suspect
As details were made public about the homicide, we also learned that New York State Police were looking for a possible suspect in the case.
The New York State Police shared on a social media post that they were looking for Anthony G. Bechand. The 53 year old, according to the NYSP, was "at large and may be armed and dangerous."
Bechand is described as "a white male, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair."
The suspect was said to be driving a white 2024 Chevrolet Silverado that was later found onCounty Route 60, near the intersection of County Route 86 in Franklin County, in the Town of Brighton.
New York State Police released a photo of Bechand in hopes that the public would be able to assist in locating him.
Law Enforcement Offers $5,000 Reward For Upstate, NY Murder Suspect
Law Enforcement is stepping up their search for Bechand.
In a statement released by the New York State Police they shared that they have been joined by the U.S. Marshal Task Force, Northern Regional Special Response Team and other local law enforcement agencies on their search for Bechand.
They believe he is in Franklin County where his truck was located back on September 14th.
The U.S. Marshals are now offering a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to Bechand's location.
The New York State Police write in their statement "Law Enforcement is seeking the public’s help with any information leading to Bechand’s whereabouts and are asking for individuals with camps, trail cameras, or security cameras in the area" to call the NYSP at 518-897-2000 if you see any unusual or suspicious activity.
A description of Bechand was shared above, however his clothing description is still unknown at this time.
