Ulster County Virtual Memorial Day Candlelight Ceremony
This great event will happen online tonight at 8 p.m.
As we make our way through these changing times, we have all had to make adjustments to the things we would normally do before everything got shut down. Some of those adjustments have been harder than others but I do think being able to take things virtually has made some of the changes easier.
We all all getting ready to head into our first 3 day weekend since the pandemic started with Memorial Day coming up on Monday. Yes we understand that most people haven't actually been to their work places in a while, but even if you are working from home Monday is a paid holiday for most and from what we are hearing most folks are planning to do something.
We got to speak to Ulster County Executive, Pat Ryan on Wednesday on the Wakin' Up with CJ and Jess Show about the state of Ulster County as we all get prepared for the beginning of the reopening plan for the Hudson Valley.
He told us that we are close but not quite there yet, which we've been hearing for a while, but the one thing he mentioned that we are so excited about is that Ulster County is still going ahead with their yearly plan to hold their annual Memorial Day candlelight ceremony.
This year the ceremony that remembers the men and women from the Hudson Valley that made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedoms will be going virtual so we can all take part in remember these brave men and women.
According to the Ulster County Facebook page the ceremony will take place Thursday night May 21st at 8 p.m. If you are interested in watching along with us, you can watch here. Happy Memorial Day from all of us here at 97.7/97.3 The Wolf.
