
Woman Killed in Tragic Accident on Ulster County Road
A 36-year-old Ellenville woman has died following a head-on accident on State Route 209 in Ulster County, NY.
Last month, we shared the tragic news of two people who died in separate accidents along Route 209 in Ulster County, NY. Sadly, today we learned that the same road has claimed another life, according to police.
Head-on Crash in Ulster County, NY
According to the New York State Police (NYSP), on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at approximately 7:46 a.m., troopers from the State Police Ellenville were dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles on State Route 209 in the town of Wawarsing, NY.
Upon arrival, the NYSP began a preliminary investigation, which revealed that a 2021 Hyundai, traveling northbound on State Route 209, failed to keep right and collided head-on with a 2004 Gulf Stream Conquest motorhome.
Following the impact, police said the Hyundai became fully engulfed in flames.
Ellenville, NY Woman Dies in Crash
First responders at the scene reported having to extricate both drivers of each of the vehicles involved in order to provide them both with emergency medical assistance.
Sadly, despite life-saving efforts, the operator of the Hyundai, identified as 36-year-old Elsa M. Booth, of Ellenville, NY, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

The driver of the Gulf Stream Conquest motorhome was identified as 68-year-old Diane R. Delehanty, of Livingston, Texas. Once first responders extricated Delehanty from the motorhome, she was transported to Garnet Health Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police didn't say if any other passengers were in either of the vehicles or what may have caused the Hyundai to fail to keep right, but stated that their investigation is ongoing. When more information becomes available, we will update this article.
