Well this is some stinky news for our friends in Ulster County.

It's been a brutal couple of weeks weather wise. Temperatures over last weekend reached into the high 90's and at some points feeling like it was well over 100 degrees.

It's summer time so we expect the heat and humidity in the Hudson Valley. Of course one of the most popular ways to cool down is taking a dip in your favorite local watering hole.

Whether it be a pool, lake or even the Hudson River the options are endless. Unless you're currently thinking about heading out to Saugerties.

On Thursday, July 5th, the Saugerties Police Department issued a statement on Facebook stating that "The Ulster County Health Department has ordered that the Village Beach on South Partition Street be closed until further notice."

The reason behind the sudden closure? Well, according to the Ulster County Health Department inspection there was a "high fecal count was discovered in the water."

No word yet on when the Village Beach will reopen.
