We are all getting excited about being able to spend more time outside. The warmer weather is sure to have us enjoying our yards. For those of us who have pets, there are a few things to consider as we head into the summer.
Pet enjoy the outdoors as much as we do but they can often come in contact with unexpected dangers. They can get stung by bees just like humans and sometimes worse because they choose to eat the bees. They also can ingest a toxic plant and it is important you know what plant should be around your pets.
Where to Find a List of Outside Plants That Are Safe for Your Pet
Rover.com has a great list of outdoor plants that are safe for your pets, specifically dogs. Look over the list and see what plants you may have in your yard. Garden Design has also put together a list for both cats and dogs.
Unfortunately, some of the most common garden plants can be toxic to your pet. The ASPCA has put together a very thorough list that not only includes dogs and cats but extends to other animals like horses. Knowing what is in your yard and garden is the first step then checking these lists is the next step.
