Tis the Season to Light It Up

Do you have a favorite Christmas decoration? And by that I don't mean an ornament you hang on the tree I mean your favorite decoration. Is it a wreath on the front door? Or maybe the evergreen spray that is a wreath substitution. Maybe you enjoy the tree artificial or fresh. Maybe it is the stockings that hang on the mantle or stair railing that end up filled with all kinds of goodies. Garland is fun and the fake snow can dress up a window but my all time favorite is the lights. The light say Merry Christmas.

I have always been a fan of the Christmas Lights. Colored or white, icicle or straight strand, hanging from the house, a fence or the tree. The lights are the one decoration that I would miss if they weren't part of the season. I have had years without a tree and there have been years with no wreath but I would never go a Christmas without lights.

For those of us who live in the north east, where the darkness sets in early during the winter, Christmas lights bring illumination to our neighborhoods and yards. They welcome visitors during the holidays and driving around at night and seeing all the lights is a great way to spend an evening with the family. Get some hot chocolate turn on the Christmas songs and go for a drive.
