This ‘Selfie’ Thing is Getting Out of Hand

I heard about this story this weekend and I was in absolute shock.

A talent manager from Los Angeles spent $15,000 on plastic surgery so she could look  better in her selfies! This is a whole new level of the selfie phenomenon!

Triana Lavey, 38, didn't like the face staring back at her on social media sites such as Facebook and Skype. When Photoshop and other photo editing apps weren't doing the trick, she decided to take things into her own hands, or well, her plastic surgeons hands.

Lavey went through several surgeries that included work to her cheekbones, chin and nose, along with fat graphs and botox. After spending $15,000 worth of procedures Lavey is finally happy with her appearance and says “I feel like I look like myself, but Photoshopped.”

Yikes. Would you spend $15,000 to look better in a selfie or $20 on a photo editing app? Either way, it's a bit extreme. What happened to just saying "cheese" ?
