It got heated this weekend with me and a few of my friends and now we need your help to settle the debate.

The Hudson Valley was graced with some beautiful weather, which means outdoors activities. A group of my friends went out for some drinks in Wappingers and somehow ended up stopping for ice cream.

One friend ordered a cup of vanilla, soft served, with rainbow sprinkles. And that's when it all started.

Another friend asked "Why even get sprinkles? They all taste the same."

Personally, I agree. I don't think that chocolate sprinkles taste like chocolate. I think that both Rainbow and Chocolate just taste like chalky sugar. If Rainbow had a flavor it should be something fruity, but it's not. There's no real taste.

So whether you stop at The Village Creamery, Mary Janes or Joe's Dairy Bar if you get sprinkles, is it because of the taste or just the color?

Do you really think sprinkles taste different? Let us know on Facebook.
