If you have young kids this is probably a conversation you have had with them.

When should kids get cell phones? Is there an appropriate age?

We have had this talk in my house a bunch of times with my 10 year old daughter Julianna.

It usually goes like this, Mommy, Daddy when can I have my own cell phone to call my friends? Our reply is usually something like, when you earn it or when you are 13, something like that.

According to a new survey from Techcrunch, the average American kid now gets their first smart phone when they're only 10. It's actually 10 years and four months, to be specific.

10 is to young isn't it? Or am I being to hard here?

The same survey says that the average kid gets their own social media account at the age of 11. Again way to young right?

If you have kids, do they have a cell phone? Did you make them wait? Am I being to hard on my daughter? Let us know in the comment section below.
