
Baseball Bat, Knives & Handgun Used in Assault in Ellenville
Police are searching for the suspects who allegedly assaulted two victims with a baseball bat, knives, and a handgun in Ellenville, NY, on Saturday night.
Brutal Assault in Ellenville, New York
According to a press release posted on the Ellenville Police Department's (EPD) Facebook page, the incident unfolded at approximately 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 26th, when EPD was dispatched to a reported assault in progress at 8 Mill St in Ellenville, NY.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that two victims had sustained numerous injuries and were told that the attackers struck the victims with a baseball bat, a knife, and used a handgun to pistol whip the victims. Police said that the suspects fled the scene before their arrival and quickly launched an investigation.

Police believe that the incident began as a verbal dispute between one of the suspects and one of the victims early that evening. Police said that one suspect left the dispute and returned a short time later with three other subjects armed with a baseball bat, knives, and a handgun to confront one of the victims.

Once they located the person, they began to viciously attack him. During the attack, the victim's girlfriend attempted to intervene but was also attacked.
Police did say that all of the weapons involved in the assault have been recovered and that they have also recovered a video of the incident.
Not A Random Attack
"This was not a random attack, the victims were clearly sought out and assaulted by these subjects, who were armed," said EPD Chief Philip Mattracion. "We have identified all the suspects who range in age from 14-19 that were involved in this case, and it is believed that they will be in custody shortly."
The two victims were transported to Ellenville Regional Hospital to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
