This New York Rescue Took Some First Responder Ingenuity

Driver's Family Grateful to First Responders After Mother's Car Accident
There is no doubt that our Hudson Valley first responders are good at what they do, but it never stops amazing me how they can rescue us from unimaginable situations. Fortunately, the woman involved in this accident in Sullivan County is ok with that credit going directly to the first responders from the victim's family.

In a note to the fire department, the family shared that their mother was recovering from the accident and that the quick response from the agencies that responded was definitely the reason she was doing well.

Your swift, skilled, and compassionate actions made all the difference during what could have been a tragic day. (Lumberland Fire-Dept Glen Spey via Facebook)
Sullivan County First Responders Make Difficult Rescue Look Easy
The rescues didn't share how the accident could have possibly happened or details about the road it was on, but it is obvious from the photos they shared that it was a wooded area with steep terrain. Glancing at the pictures, you can see that just getting to the car was difficult. Rescuing someone from inside and then recovering the car was going to take smart thinking.

The call went out for a car accident with heavy entrapment, according to the Lumberland Fire-Dept Glen Spey Facebook, and as you can see from the photos, that was very much a true statement. Fortunately, when they got there, the woman in the car was alert.
Many Agencies Helped Rescue a Sullivan County Woman After One Car Accident
Various other agencies stepped in to help, including Lackawaxen Fire members, and Sparrowbush Fire was called to assist. They shared that Hockenberry Garage was holding the wrecked car in place with chains. The Highland Lakes Fire Department was on site as well and credited with some of the amazing pictures shared on social media. The Sullivan County Sheriff's Department, the New York State Police, and Sullivan County EMS were on the scene as well.
