As we wait for much-needed rain throughout the Hudson Valley the fires continue to burn all day Sunday. Most of the Hudson Valley was affected by smoke either from the south with the fires burning in New Jersey and Greenwood Lake or the fires still burning in Sullivan and Ulster Counties.

The Ulster County Government re-stated their Burn ban which they put in effect back in October. Also today the Esopus Fire Department shared the news that the Town of Esopus has declared a State of Emergency due to the drought. They state that their burn ban will be in effect until conditions improve. At the moment no one is sure when that will be.
