Stanley Announces Massive Recall
Stanley has quickly become one of the most popular names in drinkware over the last few years selling millions of cups and mugs to customers worldwide. If you've purchased any of its select travel mugs the company is asking that you check to see if its part of a newly announced recall of 2.6 million mugs.
Why Are Stanley Mugs Being Recalled?
The recall is being issued after Stanley announced a potential burn hazard with select travel mugs according to Forbes. According to the company, the issue is with the threads on select mug lids where they "can shrink when exposed to heat and torque, causing the lid to detach during use, posing a burn hazard." The recall was issued after Stanley said it received 91 reports of issues with lids, resulting in 38 burn injuries worldwide, with 16 in the U.S. 11 of those injuries did require medical attention.
