Does the USPS Give Away FREE Boxes in New York?

Is it true that the United States Postal Service gives away free boxes of all sizes to anyone who wants or needs them in New York?

There are a few times in life when a normal everyday conversation will reveal something that most of us had no idea about. One of those conversations happened to me the other day and after fact-checking to make sure what I learned was in deed factual, I think this is worth sharing because I don't think many people know that this is even real.

USPS Gives Away Free Supplies

The conversation started between me and my girlfriend while we were watching TV the other night when something on the TV led her to ask me, "Did you know that the USPS gives away FREE boxes?" After a brief pause, I responded with " HUH...what do you mean?" She explained that a fellow teacher at the school she teaches at told her the other day that if you ever need boxes the United States Postal Service gives away FREE boxes in all sizes and shapes.

As I do with most things, soon after she said it I grabbed my phone to investigate and went to the USPS website and discovered that they do offer a ton of FREE supplies to anyone that might need them. They offer 48 various items for FREE on its website including various sizes of boxes, labels, shipping envelopes, kits, and more.

Keep in mind that all of the items have USPS markings on them but if you are in need of boxes for storage or maybe even moving this might be something useful.

How Does it Work?
