Specialty Donut Shop Opens in Hudson Valley

Glazed Over Specialty Donuts has officially opened and donut lovers are going crazy!

According to the Daily Voice, Glazed Over, located at 315 Main Street in Beacon, is now open and will offer customers a variety of glazes and toppings for their made to order donuts.

Owners Ron and Lisa Tompkins from Beacon, told the Voice that they got the idea for the donut shop after seeing similar places while on vacation. "We had seen something similar, and we liked it, the kids liked it, and there were long lines."

Here is how it works over at Glazed Over, customers come in and fill out an individual order sheet were you can choose from a variety of glazes like caramel, chocolate and maple. Then you get to pick your toppings like almonds, bacon and chocolate chips. Then comes your choice of drizzles including caramel, white chocolate and strawberry.

Once you place your order the donuts are made fresh while you wait and if you want you can watch the donuts being made through a viewing window.

After I heard about the shop opening over the weekend, I tried to get my hands on some of the donut goodness on Sunday but they were closed and after checking their Facebook page, it looks like they ran out of their specialty batter and promise to reopen on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
