If you've noticed the wind picking up today, you aren't alone. I had all of our windows open today and so far I have picked up two lamps, three picture frames, and had our back door slam shut so hard that our cats went into hiding.

As it turns out, a cold front is moving through the Hudson Valley and the winds could increase. According to the National Weather Service, we could see wind gusts up to 40 mph through this evening, which is why they've issued a Special Weather Statement.

It's in effect until 8 pm and these winds could be strong enough to bring down tree limbs as well as carry any loose outdoor items into your neighbors yard, maybe even two neighbors down.

While the winds should decrease by 8PM, you'll notice cooler temps for tomorrow. With temperatures forecast to be in the low 60s, we could be 20 degrees cooler tomorrow than it was today in parts of the Hudson Valley.

Might want to get those sweaters back out.
