Part of my at home daddy duties is to make my kids lunch for school almost everyday and I have to say sometimes its a pain in the...well you know. Sometimes it's really easy to just throw a few things into their lunch boxes without any thought and be done. Not the responsible way to pack a lunch but it happens, right?

Are Oreo cookies a bad snack? According to ABC, a pre school in Colorado say's they are. Bad enough to send a letter home to a mom who sent her daughter to school with the cookies as a snack.

Leeza Pearson sent her 4 year old daughter to the Children's Academy in Colorado last Friday with a lunch that had a sandwich, cheese and Oreo's. Later that day her daughter came home with the cookies and this note:

Dear Parents, It is very important that all students have a nutritious lunch. This is a public school setting and all children are required to have a fruit, a vegetable, and a healthy snack from home, along with milk. If they have potatoes, the child will also need bread to go along with it. Lunchables, chips, fruit snacks, and peanut butter are not considered to be a healthy snack. This is a very important part of our program and we need everyone's participation.

The school told ABC that they did give the little girl a healthy alternative as a snack. And as one could imagine Mom was not to happy about this. she told ABC, "They don't provide lunch for my daughter. I provide lunch, It's between me and the doctor in terms of what's healthy for her."

Pearson said she's not a problem parent, and her daughter is a good student who has attended the school since last fall. Pearson said she just doesn't agree with the school's position. She also couldn't get an explanation from the school's director.
