The town of Saugerties will be hosting two vehicle parades in the upcoming weeks.

In a press release the Town of Saugerties Superintendent, Greg Chorvas, announced that on Friday, May 22nd and Saturday, May 23rd, there will be two separate parades one that will honor our heroes and essential workers and the other for high school athletes.

Chorvas explains that the parade on Friday will be held for healthcare and essential workers starting at 8:20pm. Saturday's parade will be held for Saugerties High School sports teams. They want to honor the seniors who missed out on their Spring season.

Saturday's parade will kick off at 8:20pm.

Both parade routes will start at the Cantine Veterans Sports Complex, then south on to Washington Avenue to Main Street. From there, the route goes to north on to Market Street and back to the complex.

The Town of Saugerties urges residents that are on the parade route, whether you have a business or live there, to decorate with signs and decorations on your lawn, porches and windows.

If you'd like to drive in the parade, they ask that you go all out and decorate your vehicle as well.

More details on the parades will be released within the next few days if you want to follow along on the Saugerties Tourism page on Facebook.

Get out there and support your Ulster County heroes and high school athletes!
