Police say a Dutchess County teenager was arrested after they discovered she entered a local jail with a hypodermic needle concealed inside her body.

According to the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, 19-year-old Nicole P. Mastro, of Wappingers Falls was brought to the Ulster County Jail on an undisclosed and unrelated charge. While she was being processed, she allegedly was found to have a hypodermic needled secreted inside her body.

The needle was found through a body search during processing, police say. Mastro was charged with 1st-degree promoting prison contraband, a class D felony.

Mastro was will appear in the City of Kingston Court at a later date.
