I don't think there is anything more American than this.

It all happened in Augusta, Maine last week.

According to the Augusta Police Departments Facebook page, officers responded to a call about some bald eagles fighting with each other. Really!

The Police said, "Two bald eagles were locked in mortal combat over a territorial dispute". The Eagles were literally locked together by the talons and the officers who responded had to separate the two combatants with blankets.

The eagles, after being separated, were later seen flying above Augusta. The police didn't say if the eagles were seen flying together or not.

Here's hoping that they don't hold any grudges.
