The sky is the star of 2024. Expect another show this time with a "planet parade" in June.

Planet Parade on Display in the Hudson Valley Sky This June

You don't want to be left out like you were for the Aurora Borealis, right? Thankfully, Austin Williams of Fox 5 News is reporting that there will be a parade of planets coming up on June 3rd, 2024.

Willams explains there will be a "rare alignment of six planets will be visible in the pre-dawn sky" and will feature Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune in a unique lineup.

The event is known as a Planet Parade and as Williams writes, it's when "multiple planets appear close together in the sky." The planets won't be in a straight line but they will be close enough to make a "stunning visual spectacle."

Best Times and Ways to View Rare Planet Alignment

Like most celestial events, it's recommended you situate yourself in a location with no lights and a clear view of the sky.

As for the timing of the Planet Parade, you're going to want to wake up early. According to Fox 5, all 6 planets will be the most visible 20 minutes before sunrise.

Williams and Fox 5 add that Jupiter, as the brightest planet, will be visible to the naked eye along with Mars and Saturn. Mercury will be visible but "low on the horizon" and Uranus and Neptune will be a little tougher to spot. The 2 planets are fainter in brightness and will require binoculars or a telescope to catch a glimpse.

We've had a lot of unique opportunities this year to experience once-in-a-lifetime events. Who could forget the April 8th Solar Eclipse? It was the talk of the town for months, some Hudson Valley schools even closed for the event. (In my opinion, the aurora flare was way cooler, but I digress) Here's what you missed:
