Do you have your fuel budget plan in place to make it easier for you to pay to be able to heat your home this winter? Are you, or someone you know, on a fixed income that makes heating your home a challenge? Are you worried as to how you're going to make it through this winter?

Orange County residents who live on a fixed income can get help through the Orange County Fuel Fund, a program designed to help, educate, and inform residents about all of the energy related services and programs offered.

The Orange County Energy Initiative, sponsored by Orange County government and the United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region, offers an Energy Savers Program, where residents will have access to services that will help them manage their energy costs through the winter heating season.

In addition, Energy Conservation Workshops will be offered to help residents learn of energy saving measures they can easily make in their homes to allow their heating dollars go further.

Residents could also benefit from Heap, or the Home Energy Assistance Program for this upcoming winter. This program helps thousands of individuals and families in Orange County whether they heat by electricity, natural gas, oil, coal, propane, etc.

Applications for all of these programs will be available beginning Monday, November 14, and you can apply here.

If you need help, please ask. If you know of someone who needs help, please share this information.
