A battle with a fire in Dutchess County led to a road closure and traffic delays on many other roads.
Hudson Valley traffic reporter Suzy Cerone confirmed the westbound arterial is closed in Poughkeepsie from South Hamilton Street to the Mid-Hudson Civic Center due to a fire. As of this writing, the fire and closure aren't impacting the Mid-Hudson Bridge, according to Cerone.
City of Poughkeepsie Mayor Rob Rolison reports City of Poughkeepsie firefighters responded to a second alarm fire at a home at 316 Mill Street in Poughkeepsie around 3:15 a.m on Monday. All personnel were pulled out for exterior attack.
The Route 44/55 arterial West between South Hamilton Street and Market Street is closed with traffic backed up to South Grand Avenue, City of Poughkeepsie police confirmed around 6:20 a.m on Monday.
Delays are being reports on Route 9, Jefferson Street, Academy Street, South Clinton Street and Church Street in Poughkeepsie.
According to Rolison, firefighters were battling a blaze coming from the second and third floors of the home.
