Office of the Aging to Hold Public Hearings This Fall

You may have heard of Millennials, Generation X, Baby Boomers, and even Generation Z, but have you ever heard of the Sandwich Generation? This is the generation made up of individuals who are raising their children while also taking care of an aging parent.
The challenges can be many and the choices are hard. You may find yourself trying to understand Medicare and all of the different plans, what services are available for seniors in the Hudson Valley, how does the Office of the Aging work, and a variety of other questions.
It's not easy and sometimes getting information of any kind can be a very frustrating process. But, there is help. The Dutchess County Office of the Aging will be holding two Public Hearings this fall.
These are great opportunities to ask questions, offer suggestions for senior services, and are open to older adults, care givers, and anyone else interested in the services provided to our senior citizens.
The first will be held Wednesday, September 27 at the East Fishkill Senior Friendship Center, 890 Route 82 in Hopewell Junction; and the second will be on Thursday, October 5 at Interfaith Towers on 66 Washington St.in Poughkeepsie.
If you are unable to make either of these meetings, but would like your comments to be heard, email them to ofa@dutchessny.gov.
You might not only get the help you've been needing, but you could also help someone else simply by asking a question. Let your voice be heard.
