Big Congratulations To The Wolf Den Hero For October: Don Estes
Every month The Wolf teams up with Mid Hudson Pump and MHA of Dutchess County to select one of our area first responders out of the hundreds who have been nominated to be inducted into the Wolf Den of Heroes.
For more than a year now we have asked you to nominate a first responder you know who you believe deserves to be recognized for their efforts in our community. If you have yet to nominate someone be sure to do it after you read more about our October 2024 Wolf Den of Heroes Inductee: Don Estes of the East Clinton Fire District.
Wolf Den Inductee for October 2024 Being Honored
When Stacy nominated Don here is what she shared with us:
This man, Don Estes, Fire Chief of East Clinton Fire District goes above and beyond for his community daily! He is a true definition of a hero, a selfless volunteer and a wonderful human being. He deserves this recognition! East Clinton Rescue Squad was recently awarded EMS Agency of the Year and Don and his crew have a 100% response time.
Don also stopped into the studio and spoke to CJ and Jess about his 48-plus years at the East Clinton Fire District. He mentioned how it is about a team not just him and how they could also use some volunteers as could other fire companies in the Hudson Valley so maybe consider volunteering at your firehouse.
Nominate The First Responder in Your Life
If you want to nominate a first responder in your life, fill out the form on our website. Be sure to take a minute to share some information about the First Responder you are nominating and please feel free to send us a picture or two.
We'll be picking our November inductee soon.
The Wolf Den of Heroes Celebrates First Responders in Our Community
For the last several years here at The Wolf, we've been trying to figure out a way to put a spotlight on the first responders in our community. They do so much for us and leave their families at a moment's notice to help out our neighbors in need.
We decided the least we could do is give them the spotlight on Wakin' Up With CJ and Jess and social media as a 'thank you' for all they do for their communities.
Then, our partners at Mental Health America Dutchess County and Mid Hudson Pump jumped on board with their support and because of them each month the first responder who becomes the Wolf Den Inductee receives a gift of $250.
