After weathering a delay in the opening of the 2020 season, the Orange County Fair Speedway was finally able to open to fans earlier this summer only to have that end late last month when they had to suspend their racing schedule. (OCFS Suspends Racing) Now, if you visit their schedule you will see that the rest of the events for August are pending New York State approval.

So, today they took to their Facebook page to asking race fans to answer a poll. They are trying to get an idea of how many people would want to live stream Eastern States Weekend in October. Like other live venues in the Hudson Valley, the Orange County Fair Speedway is trying to figure out how to move forward into the Fall in hopes that they can keep events on their schedule.

They are asking race fans to be truthful with their response to the poll which asks, Would you live-stream ESW 2020 if fans cannot attend? Your choices are Yes, No or Maybe. You can find the poll both pinned to the top of their Facebook Fan page and on their website, orangecountyfairspeedway.net.

The OCFS had been streaming weekly events but after the shutdown streaming of weekly events wasn't working. In a statement on orangecountyfairspeedway.net OCFS stated, In light of the mandated shutdown of our Grandstands and Drive-In sections, the possibility of ESW 2020 being a Live-Streamed only event exists. Though it was determined that weekly racing could not be sustained by streaming only, if the fan response is strong enough ESW may be able to run in 2020 as a streaming only event.

So Hudson Valley race fans this is where the tires meet the dirt track. Let the OCFS know if you would want to live-stream the ESW 2020 and let's look forward to in person racing again in 2021.
