This Saturday, June 6th will be opening night at the Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown. Hudson Valley race fans have been waiting for this since opening night was postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. This Saturday the OCFS is ready to welcome back drivers and fans but things will be a bit different this season.

For opening night the grandstand seating will remain closed. You will have to live stream the race from home or purchased tickets for the Drive-in section of the track. If you want your tickets for the drive in you need to be ready to buy them tomorrow. They are limited and expected to go fast. According to a Facebook post from OCFS.

Opening night will be worth the wait no matter how you get to enjoy it. The season opener will run 43 laps is in honor of one of the OCFS most celebrated competitors, Jimmy Horton. OCFS refereed to Jimmy as "The Sensational One" in their release announcing the opener this week. Jimmy's career spans many years of racing in Dirt, NASCAR and ARCA. Some of his most celebrated wins include the ARCA Daytona 200, a race run since 1964. Jimmy took the checked flag in 1990 and 1992.

Racing Saturday runs 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM at the Orange County Fair Speedway, 239 Wisner Ave in Middletown. Live stream or make plans to be in the Drive-In so you can watch the driver's race for the $4,300 purse. The Sportsman division will also race. The live stream fee is $24.99
