NY Finally Creates 9/11 Tribute License Plates
In a story that WRRV has been following since 2014, we are glad to share with you that New York is finally going to do it. The NY DMV is going to start issuing license plates that pay tribute to the 9/11 victims. The plates will feature phrases, like "Never Forget' and "United We Stand" along with the American flag and images of the rescue workers.
You can get the plates by paying a visit to your local DMV office. The plates will cost you 85-dollars with annual renewal fees starting at around 56-dollars. Keep in mind that when you renew your registration, you are doing it for two years at a time. So expect, with taxes and other miscellaneous fees (depending on what county you live in) that the plates will cost you @150-185 for the two years.
The good news? For each plate, 25-dollars of the annual fees will be paying will be contributed toward the World Trade Center Memorial Scholarship Fund which provides scholarships to dependents of 9/11 victims.
