New Stewart’s Shop Opens in the Hudson Valley

One Hudson Valley town is "over the moon" that Stewart's Shop has finally opened!

Over the last two years, many in the Highland, New York area have been patiently waiting for the arrival of their neighborhood Stewart's Shop and thankfully their patience has paid off as the Stewart's is officially open.

Back in May of 2022, we told you that the folks at Stewart's had submitted a proposal to build a new location near the highly traveled intersection of Chapel Hill Road and Route 9W at 3733 Route 9W, in Highland. The new location would be the 13th location in Ulster County, the first store in Highland, NY, and the second Stewart's location on Route 9W, with the Milton location on Route 9W being a few miles south. After the proposal was submitted, it was approved by the town and many of us wondered how long it would be until they would be able to open.

In August 2023 we thought we had an answer as a bunch of heavy equipment was spotted at the proposed site moving dirt and clearing the site leading many to believe that construction would start sooner than later. Unfortunately, it was later, as in months, but it did finally begin a couple of months ago clearing the way for its grand opening.

Stewart's Shop Opens in Highland, New York

After months of construction, the new Stewart's Shop on Route 9w in the town of Lloyd (Highland) opened for business on Wednesday, July 17th completing the popular convenience store's $3 million investment in Ulster County. The new shop offers everything the Hudson Valley has come to love about Stewart's including gas, snacks, award-winning milk and ice cream, coffee, and much more. YES!! FREE air for anyone who needs to add some to the tires on their vehicles!!! Just one of the many reasons we love our local Stewart's shops! To celebrate the store's grand opening Stewart's donated $1,000 to the Highland Babe Ruth League.
