More than 50 Mann’s Brand Veggie Products Recalled
I never answer the phone when I don't recognize the number but in a rush to get out of work I pick up a call without looking and I am glad I answered. It was a robo-call but it was actually a real one that I need to hear. It was Tops Market calling to let me know about a voluntary recall that was issued by Mann's Brand.
Mann's Brand issued a recall on November 3rd on over 50 of their products. They are calling it an "abundance of caution" regarding Listeria and their products. They announced the voluntary recall of a series of vegetable products sold to retailers due to a notification from the Food and Drug Administration that their products have a potential Listeria contamination. This effect products in both the United States and Canada.
The notice states that "Mann Packing is issuing this recall out of an abundance of caution. Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. Mann Packing will continue to work closely with the authorities to investigate the issue."
The products effected are dated "Best If Enjoyed By" October 11, 2019 through November 16, 2019. If you believe you have these products affected by the recall you should dispose of the product immediately in a proper container.
