Mister Rogers Freaks Me Out!

Am I alone?

This is a big weekend for fans of Mister Rogers Neighborhood as the movie "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" staring Tom Hanks as Fred Rogers opens everywhere.

At one time or another we have all seen at least one episode of the classic children's show that started with Mister Rogers putting on his sweater and sneakers and talking right to us kids and of course signing, won't you be my neighbor.

As a kid growing up I remember watching many times and saying to myself, I don't know what it is but this guy makes me feel a little weird. Still to this day I'm not sure what it was but Mister Rogers freaked me out, maybe because he was so over the top nice. Or maybe because he talked to puppets, LOL!

He wasn't the only children's TV show star that freaked me out. I'm still freak out by Captain Kangaroo!

I mean that suit and the hair cut...WOW! My step sister Heather was a huge fan of it and I remember watching it with her and making fun of her because she LOVED HIM! She would always tell me she was going to marry him when she got older. She lied, she married a plumber! LOL!
