Mike Myers Wasn’t the Original Choice for Shrek

Who doesn't love the movie 'Shrek'? Mike Myers as the lovable ogre, Eddie Murphy as the wise-cracking side kick Donkey, and all of our favorite story book characters as we've never seen them before. But the movie could have gone in a different direction.

Yahoo has revealed that the late comedian Chris Farley was to be the original Shrek. In fact, he had recorded almost 99% of the movie before his untimely death. Chris' brother, Kevin Farley, who did the interview with Yahoo, also went on to mention that the character was a little more like Chris, somewhat bumbling and innocent. Here's the video from 1997.
