Massive Development Proposed For Kingston Waterfront Property
A proposed construction project could change the face of Kingston's Rondout if approved. According to the Daily Freeman, developer Robert Iannucci has had his eye on building a 'Mystic Seaport' type of development and has been buying up property in the area for more than 15 years.
The multi-year project was put before the Kingston City Planning Board Monday and would include apartments, a parking garage, and hotel. What is being billed as the 'Supergarage' aims to address housing needs along with added parking and would act as a means to draw people to the area. The first phase would include construction of a boat museum and restoration facility according to The Freeman.
The developers announced they'd like to get the community involved in the process and will hold an informational meeting in the Cornell Building on December 6th at 6 PM. They plan to be back in front of the planning board within 90 days with more information.
