Luke Combs' crowd-pleasing drinking song "Beer Never Broke My Heart" is the country star's newest single. Combs released a studio version of the track on Wednesday (May 8); readers can press play above to watch.

Combs wrote his ode to what's always sloshing in his ever-present red Solo cup with Jonathan Singleton, the co-writer of Billy Currington's "Don't" and other hits, and Randy Montana, a second-generation singer-songwriter and the son-in-law of NASCAR legend Kyle Petty. It's Combs' first single to not be featured on his debut album, 2017's This One's for You.

"We wrote "Beer Never Broke My Heart" on the tour bus, actually, in my first headlining tour — the Don’t Tempt Me with a Good Time Tour," Combs recalls. "I’d had this title on my phone for a long time and really wanted to save it for some guys I thought would kind of understand and grasp what I was looking for out of the song. I went to soundcheck and I got back, and they’d kind of been hammering away on this thing. We buttoned it up, and it’s been a fan favorite ever since.”

Combs' new single arrives as the artist plays as hot a hand as anyone in country music. All five singles off of This One's for You -- "Hurricane," "When It Rains It Pours," "One Number Away," "She Got the Best of Me" and "Beautiful Crazy" -- all topped Billboard's Country Airplay chart.

Combs, who is the reigning ACM New Male Vocalist of the Year and CMA Male Vocalist of the Year, is currently on the road for his 2019 Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour, and recently added dates for the trek through December. He also collaborated with iconic duo Brooks & Dunn on a rendition of "Brand New Man" for the group's 2019 project, Reboot.
