A Powerball lotto ticket worth $50K has been sold in Hopewell Junction and has yet to be claimed. So if you just tossed that ticket aside thinking you didn't win, you may want to grab it out of the garbage before you throw $50K down the tubes. HVNN reports the ticket was sold at the Sunoco station on Route 82 in time for the August 6th drawing.

According to the New York State Lottery, the winning numbers were 20-33-36-47-52 with a Powerball of 12. To obtain the $50,000 prize, a ticket must have matched four numbers in addition to the Powerball. Ticketholders have a year to claim their prize.

2016 has been busy for Hudson Valley lotto winners. Earlier this year a Brewster man won $2.5 million on a Win For Life scratch off ticket. In January, 5 Rockland County siblings split $1 million. A Dutchess County woman hit for $5 million by playing a CashX scratch off and was actually New York State's first million dollar(+) winner of the year.
