Loretta Lynn has one of the most storied careers in country music, and some of the biggest names in the modern genre are coming together to honor her with the ultimate birthday celebration.

Lynn is set to receive an all-star tribute concert on April 1 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, just days before her 87th birthday on April 14.

Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, George Strait, Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, Pistol AnniesAlan Jackson, Kacey Musgraves, Margo Price, Brandy Clark, Darius Rucker, Little Big Town, Martina McBride and Jack White will perform at the star-studded affair, and more names are expected to be announced.

Garth Brooks' "Friends in Low Places" Almost Wasn't

The news was revealed during a press conference at the Grand Ole Opry on Monday (Jan. 14) that included a surprise appearance from Brooks, who has long admired the country legend. She was also presented with an elaborate cake decorated with her favorite color, lavender, and an image of the official poster announcing the tribute show.

"It's one of the sweetest things on the planet that someone who is at where everyone moves here to be treats you like an equal from the second that you meet her. You have always been in my corner, you have always fought for me. I love you to pieces," Brooks praises of Lynn.  "I think there's things you aspire to be and because of that, things come around you. Miss Loretta was one of the first instances I ever got to actually witness firsthand where who she was was who she was always going to be and it still attracted everything around her...A pioneer never stops being a pioneer."

"I feel great," Lynn remarked enthusiastically of how she feels having so many artists come together to honor her. Though she admits hasn't met many of the stars who will be performing, she says she does listen to their music.

"All of them," she added of who she's excited to see perform. "They’re all great."

Alongside her stunning voice, Lynn was an early trailblazer for female songwriters when she debuted in the 1960s, having penned several of her notable songs including "I'm a Honky Tonk Girl," Don't Come Home a Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind)," "The Pill" and "Coal Miner's Daughter."

"I would write about my life and what was going on around me right at the time, how I was feeling and how some of the other girls were feeling out there. I tried to write for us all," she says, reflecting.

The concert is presented by AEG Presents, with producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell) acting as musical director during the all-star production. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and Opry Trust Fund.
