One person was killed after a car crashed into a Hudson Valley business.

On Thursday around 5:30 p.m., the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office responded to Main Street in Fishkill for what was said to be a multi-vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, police determined the accident only involved one car and someone was giving CPR to the driver, 62-year-old Don A. Tuangtuang of Newburgh. He was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh where he was later pronounced dead, police say.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Tuangtuang was driving a 2002 Chevrolet pickup southbound on Church Street when he continued through the intersection with Main Street without stopping and hit a stone wall and a building located at 1140 Main Street in Fishkill, police say.

The vehicle came to rest against the stone wall, with the front-end partially through the building’s large glass window, according to police.

Police believe Tuangtuang suffered a medical emergency while driving which appears to be the primary factor of the crash.
