Long-Time Hudson Valley Pizza Hut Closes Up Shop
A Hudson Valley Pizza Hut has officially closed its doors after nearly 50 years in business. The shop at 856 Ulster Avenue in Kingston originally opened in 1971. When reached by phone Thursday a representative from Pizza Hut did confirm that the location is in fact closed.
There are still Hudson Valley Pizza Hut locations in Newburgh, Montgomery, Mohegan Lake, Monticello, and Catskill. The Poughkeepsie Pizza Hut closed in the spring of 2019. That same year they announced an increased focus on carryout and delivery options.
Pizza Hut was originally founded in 1958 in Kansas by two brothers who borrowed $600 from their mom to open a business. It has grown to more than 16,000 restaurants with 350,000 employees in more than 100 countries.
