Kingston: Help Save the People’s Place Santa Project
So far 2020 has been a year of things that didn't happen. Let's not allow this to be the year that Santa doesn't get to make all his stops. This Thursday July 23rd from 7 AM to 5 PM The People's Place is holding their Help Save Santa Project.
The People's Place located at 17 Saint James Street in Kingston Helps anyone living in Ulster County that needs assistance. This includes people who are unemployed, people with physical and mental challenges, the working poor and most certainly both youth and the elderly. People's Place has more than 20 programs that help in the community that offer kindness and service with respect.
This Thursday they are hoping people will help them Save Santa.
Their goal is to make sure that children in Ulster County enjoy the magic of Christmas. On Thursday a group of people that includes Christine Hein hosting entertainment plus special guests along with Karen Clark Adin from Bop to Tottom, will come together and host a day of fun and festivities live on Facebook. This Christmas in July event hopes to raise funds to purchase over 16,000 toys and gifts for over 2000 children in Ulster County. Join them for fun and stories of Project Santa's past plus the big guy himself may even stop by for a visit.
With all the events that have had to be pushed off to 2021 it would be nice to know that a toy drive to help children in the Hudson Valley is still going to be able to make their promise to the community. So Thursday if you need a little Christmas cheer in July makes sure you check it out.
