As a young trailblazer in country music, Kelsea Ballerini is set to receive a major honor at the 2017 ASCAP Country Music Awards.

Ballerini will be honored for her contributions to the genre with the ASCAP Vanguard Award at the 55th-annual soiree. The award is given to an ASCAP artist who has made an impact in the world of music and is "shaping the future of American music."

The "Peter Pan" singer joins a list of elite musicians across various genres who have also received the Vanguard Award, including fellow country star Chris Stapleton, Sara Bareilles, the Civil Wars, Walk the Moon and more.

“From the moment she released her debut single, Kelsea Ballerini’s fearless songwriting and gifted vocals have made her one of the most exciting new artists in country music. By combining pop and country sounds with thoughtful, emotionally honest lyrics, she has unapologetically forged her own creative path to success and gained millions of fans along the way," ASCAP's John Titta says in a press release. "We are thrilled to honor her with the ASCAP Vanguard Award.”

The ASCAP Country Music Awards celebrate the most revered songwriters and publishers who've had the most performed country songs during the previous year. The awards take place Nov. 6 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

The Vanguard Award is just one of the many exciting accomplishments the young star can add to her resume, as she's set to drop her new album, Unapologeticallyon Nov. 3. Its lead single "Legends" is currently in the Top 30 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart.
