Kacey Musgraves is Making “Waves”

Country music is very different today than it was years ago. It's something that takes some adapting to, I understand. I like the classics, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash...so on and so forth. I think what differs now is that artist are more open to play around with different sounds and genres. They're taking big risks.

When another artist asks you to remix one of their songs I'm assuming that's a great honor. Putting your own spin on an original song is like adding a different spice to an old recipe that only makes it more delicious. Or, it could miss the mark completely. Luckily,  Kacey Musgraves and R&B singer Miguel are the perfect combination.

Miguel has a new album coming out called "Rouge Waves" which is his song "Waves" remixed in several different styles from alternative rock to country to electronic the song has worn many hats. And just judging by Youtube comments and views alone, Kacey's country flair on the song has captivated the audience. Miguel's smooth voice and the twang of Ms. Musgraves creates and awesome atmosphere that makes for a unique catchy song.

Miguel and Kacey have worked together before when they performed during a Carol King tribute and sang "Crying in The Rain" for a MusiCares event in November.
